The Honourable Artillery Company Ball 2025

The Honourable Artillery Company (HAC), founded in 1537 by King Henry VIII’s charter, is the oldest regiment in the British Army and one of the oldest surviving military organizations in the world situated in the heart of the City of London.

Originally created to train citizens in the use of longbows, crossbows, and early firearms, it evolved into an elite volunteer unit supporting Britain’s military efforts.

Today, the HAC functions as an Army Reserve regiment specializing in surveillance and target acquisition, while also preserving strong ceremonial, charitable, and historical traditions tied to the City of London.

Rupert’s projection work transformed the building into a living archive, where light became a medium of remembrance. By using advanced digital projection and AI-assisted visual reconstruction, he symbolically returns former members to the walls they once walked beside, allowing history to appear, move, and breathe again.

Rupert created a dialogue between past and present, demonstrating how digital art can function not only as innovation, but also as a powerful instrument of cultural commemoration.
