Pavillion ~ London
Rupert was invited to illuminate Pavilion Knightsbridge for the opening of its new members’ club, creating a site-specific projection that celebrated both the building’s heritage and its contemporary reinvention
Once a historic banking hall, the architecture provided a richly detailed façade that became the foundation for the work. The projection was carefully designed to complement its classical features, subtly tracing architectural lines, revealing ornamental details
The installation was warmly received by invited guests attending the opening, while also capturing the attention of passers-by in the surrounding streets, transforming the building into a temporary public artwork. By blending historical sensitivity with contemporary digital artistry, the piece created a visual dialogue between past and present, marking the Pavilion’s reopening with a refined yet memorable moment of illumination
